Chemotherapy Department:

This department is the only center for providing services to children with refractory diseases in the east of the country which was renovated in 2020.

Chemotherapy department is a 12-beds ward and is active in two shifts in the morning and also evening.  This ward is considered as one of the few BMB-IT-BMA centers under anesthesia in all over the country.

Chemotherapy drugs get prepared in a vertical air flow hood biological safety cabinet by an experienced nurse under safe circumstances. The number of outpatients in this ward is 3600 patients annually.

Nursing staff training in other centers and provinces for venipuncture procedure and drug preparation is held by the experienced staff of this unit.

Therapeutic measures include:

1- Preparation and injection of various chemotherapy drugs

2- Injection of blood products and coagulation factors

3- Injection of IVIG and special biological drugs
