Imaging Center of Dr. Sheikh Mashhad Pediatric Hospital, as the first and oldest subspecialty center in the east of the country in the field of radiography and pediatric sonography, as well as training students in specialized courses in radiology and undergraduate radiology (medical imaging).

Pediatric radiography:

This department has a digital radiography (DR) device, an analog radiography device, a fluoroscopy device and a CR device, and using the work experience of physicians and specialized personnel in the field of pediatric radiography, is able to perform all simple and specialized radiographs. Children in the shortest possible time and with maximum safety and radiation protection for the patient. It is necessary to explain that all radiographs performed immediately can be seen by doctors through the hospital pack and also on the web. 

 Among the radiography services provided in this section, the following can be mentioned:

1- Performing all simple radiographs of all body organs

(It is necessary to explain that for simple radiographs, there is no need for a previous appointment and special preparation or medication instructions, but in order to keep the child still and prevent him from moving during the imaging, the presence of an escort is required)

2- Doing all specialized radiographs such as

• Radiography of the urinary system (vcug)

To investigate the cause of diseases such as recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, ,bladder and urinary tract diseases, etc.

• Radiography of the kidneys IVP

To check for kidney, ureter and bladder diseases

• retrograde urethrography

It should be noted that for specialized radiographs, in order to make an appointment, you should go to the radiology reception during office hours and, in addition to the appointment, receive the necessary nutritional and medical preparation instructions and receive the necessary training pamphlet. In addition, in order to keep the child still and prevent him from moving during the filming, the presence of two accompanying people is required.

 

Pediatric ultrasound:

In this center, using the scientific ability of radiologists with experience in the field of pediatric ultrasound and the use of modern ultrasound devices, all pediatric ultrasounds can be performed, some of which are mentioned below:

• Ultrasound of the lungs, abdomen, pelvis, bladder, organs, neonatal brain, etc.
• Ultrasound of cysts and abscesses, lumps, etc.
• Color Doppler ultrasound
• Portable ultrasound in hospital wards using a portable ultrasound device
• Sampling of in vivo masses (biopsy) in the hospital operating room and under ultrasound guide
• Treatment of intestinal torsion (intestinal intussusception). It is necessary to explain that the disease is an emergency intestinal torsion and in the past it could be treated through abdominal surgery, but in this center in 99% of cases the patient is treated by radiologist through ultrasound and completely non-invasively.

Education:

In this center, using the experiences of specialists and experts, students of specialized radiology courses as well as undergraduate courses in radiology (medical imaging) are trained, as a large number of these people after graduating from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in cities and other The provinces of the country are doing their duty.

• To perform simple radiographs at all hours of the day and night, even during the holidays, the center is active.
• To perform specialized radiographs, appointments are made in person and a doctor's prescription is provided.
