Peritoneal dialysis clinic

The clinic is located on the second floor of  emam Reza building. The staff consists of two nurses, an assistant nurse and a crew. In the morning, a nursing expert is in charge of the clinic and nursing procedures on a regular basis, and the second nurse covers several days of the month according to a schedule coordinated with the nursing office. The head of the pediatric nephrologist and nursing activities department is under the direct supervision of the nursing office management.

The clinic is obliged to perform the basic principles of peritoneal dialysis care for dialysis patients notified by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Some peritoneal dialysis patient care items are performed according to the patient's clinical condition in other words, including the ICU.

:Section information

Year of Establishment: 2005

Peritoneal dialysis started working with a patient in June 1969 and until February 2010; the peritoneal dialysis nurse was active in the hemodialysis department and was responsible for the development and promotion of the peritoneal dialysis unit. Due to the increase in the number of patients and with the aim of improving services, the hospital became independent by the order of the then head of the hospital in February 2010 and its standardization began in July 2012. It is now an independent unit equipped with all the medical equipment required for peritoneal dialysis.

  1. Visiting doctor and patient counseling room and introducing kidney replacement treatment methods (peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis and transplantation) and patient admission
  2. Room with all sanitary facilities and equipped with adult and infant bed for practical training of peritoneal dialysis and practical dialysis and all nursing procedures in relation to peritoneal dialysis patient

Peritoneal dialysis clinic responds to patients in the morning shift from 7 to 13:30 and responds to patients in person and by phone. In the evening and night shifts, the peritoneal dialysis nurse is on full-time call and refers to the hospital if needed.

  10. Educating and accompanying the patient to provide a suitable place for dialysis at home and visit the patient's home
  11. Introduction to insurance organizations to issue insurance booklets covering specific diseases
  12. Forming a patient file in peritoneal dialysis ward
  13. 24-hour percussion of peritoneal dialysis nurse and patients' contact with them at different hours and if necessary, simultaneous referral of nurse and patient to the hospital or referral to patients admitted to the ward
