GELASTIC SEIZURE: REPORT OF TOW CASES

Convulsion is one of the common neurologic problems in children.
Gelastic seizure (laughter epilepsy) is a type of seizure which happens rarely. Althout it may be misdiagnosed as a psychologic problem this condition usually is a sign of CNS disease. Parent & physcians do not pay attention to it until tonic clonic seizure occurs.
In this article we represent two cases of gelastic seizure. The first case had temporal lesion in MRI and the second patient had a history of encephalitis. The goal of this presentation is to warn the physician that the inappropriate laugh can be a sign of seizure
