Backgroud:Circumcision and hypospadias repair is the most common surgical procedures on penis in pediatric age group .These procedures can produce severe intraoperative stimulation and significant postoperative pain . There are many anesthetic techniques to control such a complications. It seems that if supplementary penile block be combined with general anesthesia we can get a good results. Method and Material: In this study, we evaluate subpubic approach to block the dorsal penile nerve in 70 boys who candidate for circumcision(54case) and Distal hypospadias repair(16 case).Post operative Pain was evaluated by flacc score and wong and baker scoring systems. Results: As this type of block was successful in 95.7% of patients to control the intraoperative and post operative pain we suggest to perform subpubic nerve block in all cases who candidate for superficial penile surgery. Conclusion:Although there are little experiences with this technique,it seems that this approach is easy to do ,safe and successful for intra and postoperative (up to 24h) pain relief.
